Good morning super prospectors, dynamic salespeople, and committed businesspeople! Just like that, it’s a new day all over again. So begins another rush of building our systems, identifying more people that we can help, and pursuing our goals. I trust that you are fully engaged in this thing we call ‘today’!

One of the questions I often ask clients that I am working with is, ‘If you could rewind the tape and do the last week over, what would you do differently?’.

Unlike the golf course, we usually don’t get ‘mulligans’ in life. The chance for a do-over rarely comes along, but mentally we CAN replay the choices we’ve made and try to learn from both mistakes and things that just simply didn’t go the way we wanted or planned. We call this the value of 20-20 hindsight vision!

So, let’s think about the concept. Go back to the beginning of last week and replay the way things went in your business. If there was something that you could change or do differently that would create a greater likelihood of finding more business what would it be? Were there days when you were not following your schedule all that closely? What happened and what can you take forward into this week to make better decisions with your time?

How many conversations did you have with new prospects, leads, or sellers you were presenting to that you wish you could re-do? What other questions would you have asked … how many more times would you have closed … how many more times would you have attempted to follow up to get a hold of the person?

I don’t know what YOU might love to change if you could, and the reality is that we can’t really experience that ‘rewind’ anyway. Each of us remains a sum total of all of the choices and decisions that we’ve made … but we ~can~ do is make the time to evaluate them, journal about it them, and commit to doing things differently the next time around. One of the beauties of this business is that you rarely encounter a situation that you haven’t seen, or been in before. Be prepared, cash in on the value of hindsight, and finish the day and this week on a powerful note!
