I got into the real estate business directly after college… in a market 1500 miles away from where I grew up! After selling 45 homes that first year in real estate as a 21 year old kid, I spent another few years building my business and then made the decision that I loved speaking and coaching even more than I did actively selling.. Since 1997 I have been a full time trainer and one on one coach. 4 of those years were spent working for my mentor Mike Ferry either on stage leading audiences or in the trenches getting it done with agents just like you!

Good morning, superstar prospectors and hard-working businesspeople! This is it–we’ve come to another incredible day and so many more opportunities for yourself and your business. Are you excited about where your business is so far this year? If the answer is ‘no’, AND if you could go back and start the year over, what is the one thing that you would do differently to work toward a different result at this point? Once you answer that question, write it down and start doing it IMMEDIATELY—unless, of course, you want to wait for another day, or the next opportunity …?

If the answer is, ‘Yes! I’m totally excited about my year so far!’ then can you identify what it is that has made it an awesome start? Be sure that you write ~that~ down as well and work to duplicate that as you continue to move forward through the coming weeks and months. One of the most important characteristics of all of the top agents that I have ever worked with, met with, or listened to is that they are solid planners. They are willing to make the time to evaluate what is working, what is not working, and to make changes that are going to increase their chances of getting what they want from their business. How often are you really evaluating where you are in relation to where you want to go?

One of my favorite quotes from T Harv Ecker (Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind) is, “The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t KNOW what they want.” Earl Nightingale said pretty much the same thing: “The problem with people is not achieving the goals we set; the problem is actually setting them in the first place.”

I have said for years that if you aim at nothing you are bound to hit it … what are YOU aiming at as we get ready to kick off the day today? Make a detailed list/plan for the next 90 days and hold yourself accountable to sticking with the plan and your schedule. Every client I have who is on track at this point in the year isn’t there because they got lucky … or because of the market … or even because of me—they’re on track because they have created a plan and worked hard to follow it.

Here’s to an absolutely amazing rest of the year for every one of you! But, as always, it starts right now by going out and making today count … are you ready for action?
