A dynamite morning once again to all of you inspiring salespeople and hard-working businesspeople! I am always excited to see how so many of you continue to push forward, seize opportunities, and stay committed to your goals day in and day out. The day before us is another one of those days … let’s not let up at all on the pursuit of your dreams!

For the past couple of weeks I have been running through a series of messages that bring us back to the basics … that pattern of activities and thinking that seems to run so consistently through the lives and businesses of agents who lead the field with their production and their impact. It all started with the realization that so often their charge up that path of greatness begins in the mire and muck of being sick and tired. That one moment when enough is enough and they decide once and for all to just follow through on what they know they need to do … have YOU come to that point yet?

After that, we saw that there has to be a clear goal … a vision that draws us ever forward in spite of the challenges, setbacks, and disappointments. What is YOUR ‘Gold Medal’?

Next, was the all-important ingredient of simply talking to people. Agents who go big not only ~know~ that this is a people business, they make talking to people their business! How many new people per day are you actually speaking to about their real estate needs?

Last time I suggested that these top producers find a way to consistently stay in ‘integrity’ … meaning that what they do, say, and think remains positive and effective. What would a close inspection of YOUR average day reveal about the way your business is being run?

The final thought that I want to attach to this list revolves around the idea that at some point, and the earlier the better, agents recognize the absolute need for hiring help. There is a long list of things to deal with in this business that are necessary, but definitely NOT high-dollar producing. One of the most common things that prevents agents from getting to the next level is not getting help soon enough. Did you catch that? Too many wait until they are overwhelmed by the fruits of their early labor and then it’s too difficult to stop, hire, and train staff … so they just plunge ahead, quickly falling out of those productive habits that GOT them to this point in the first place. Start planning for your first hire from the first day in the business! Begin setting funds aside … begin documenting all of those laborious admin and support tasks to create a detailed training manual … and DON’T be afraid to pull the trigger and get your first hire in place as soon as it is feasible—even if you don’t feel you have enough for them to do at first!

Let’s do it … let’s get out there and make today count.
